Advanced Warfighter 2

2 weeks ago, I got GRAW2 – Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. I played it for like 4 days, and within like about 8 to 10 missions, I’m already at the last mission. I’m guessing it’s the last mission because thr mission title is “The Last Stand”.

Like any full blooded gamer, I did look online for walkthroughs to help me through some tough spots. However what I found was that the walkthroughs were for the XBox version, not the PC version. In other words, the mission names as well as some locations were different.

Not only that, I happened to stumble across some “walkthrough video tutorials” which featured the XBox version. I thought that the Xbox version actually looked cooler than the PC version… sigh!

Anyway, I’m currently at the last mission. I haven’t been playing GRAW2 since a couple of weeks back due to Real Life ™. I’m thinking I should get down to it really soon and get it done.

I still think the original GRAW was better…. it felt longer, felt more immersive than this new version.

BioWare picks up Perpetual tech for MMOG – PC News at GameSpot

Cool… Bioware makes some of the best RPGs I have ever played, and earlier news of them making an MMO is exciting. Now, they’re picking up a new platform to help them with the new MMO.

I don’t know about you but I’m really looking forward to their As-Yet-Unnamed MMO….

Dungeon Seige

It’s actually rather unexpected. Last weekend I was just at Sim Lim getting some DVDRs and CDRs. Then I swung by the regular game shop and saw Dungeon Seige 2 plus the expansion pack. Having nothing else worth playing there (yeah well I don’t play RTSes like Supreme Commander) I picked that up. I know that I’ll be kept busy for the next few months with Dungeon Seige 2.

That brings back old memories of Dungeon Seige 1, the original. I remember my “fighter” wearing a wizard hat all the way up to end-game, cos that’s the best headgear I could find. I also remember the world was seamless – no loading screens of any kind at all.

Dungeon Seige 2 didn’t disappoint. My character is now level 24 or so, and the sheer amount of quests thus far is incredible. I need to backtrack to Act 1 too, cos I left a couple of quests there undone. I might have rushed headlog into Act 2 abit too fast too, cos the mobs here are pretty dang tough. I need to backtrack abit to clean up all the side quests and perhaps get my character levelled up more before I jump into the fray in Act 2.

One thing that irks me about Dungeon Seige 2 is that there isn’t a “LOAD GAME” button. Sometimes I just wanna save, try something stupid, and reload. But, in DS2 you have to exit the game, and then click on CONTINUE GAME from the main menu, which is a pain.

Also, I seem to recall that the original Dungeon Seige had an editor where you could make your own dungeons (kinda like Neverwinter Nights). I don’t see that at all in DS2. Even stranger… I can’t even find the “official forums” for DS2 too… nothing much at the official website for it.

In any case, I’m thinking I might spend 100 hours or more in DS2 and the expansion pack, Broken World. That means I won’t be touching another game for like another 3 months or so heh!
