Welcome!

Welcome! I finally got off my butt and created a “generic” blog for games and game-related stuff which happened to me, or which I may think about and comment on.

First comment – recently in the papers, they had a feature on Gamers and Spouses. One of the wives was quoted as saying “I thought ‘avid’ meant 30 minutes a day”. Helloooo? If you are an avid squash player, or an avid tennis player, do you go to the tennis court and play a game for 30 minutes?

No, Avid Gamers (of which I am one) spend about FOUR HOURS on average, per day, on games. Some times, more. I know a few people who have spent SIXTEEN hours on a game before they findally got off it to eat and sleep. Now, those aren’t “avid”… those are HARDCORE! Heh!

So, ladies, next time your guy tells you he’s a GAMER, ask him which type he belongs to:

  1. Casual – an hour, maybe 2 at most, per day. Usually an hour or less on a game. Some may even play less than that, like twice or 3 times a week, each time an hour or 2.
  2. Avid – 4 to 8 hours per day on games. (I belong here)
  3. Hardcore – takes breaks only to eat and sleep. May even stay up for 30 hours straight if things get “interesting”.

Yes, I am single. No, I am currently not looking for a spouse. The girl that I eventually, inevitably get hitched to, will definitely hate my gaming habit 🙁 I am trying to pre-empt the problem by looking for an avid gamer girl 🙂

But seriously, many friends of mine who finally got married, cut down on their gaming times. From the Avid category, they had to control themselves and fall into the Casual catergory now.

Yeah, we know we have responsibilities. So do I, but since I am single, bachelor, heck I can game for as long as I want! 😀
