When A Gamer Grows Up And Gets Married…

… he’s suddenly “not free” more often.

Yeah, my gaming buddy can’t be online as often as before, like we were back in 1998 for Diablo. No, he didn’t “just get married”. He’s been married for many years, and he hasn’t been really gaming online since.

The thing is, I knew he wasn’t going to be free so I normally don’t go online with him. Except this time though, he finally got Hellgate after reading so much about it, and since he’s always been an RPG gamer, he bought it.

Now, we have our “mains” online and we’re playing through the whole story together. When we’re online it felt so good, so nostalgic. Ahh those were the days, we would reminisce.

“Yeah baby, eat lead!”

“Suck on this!” *slash slash*

“Oh gawd we’re surrounded!! Ruuunnnn!!!”

The fact that he’s a throwback to last century’s gaming culture, he doesn’t have a mic, so all communications online are still the old text-based chat. It’s funny to see typos on the chatbox when he’s in trouble.

“Heyma n comehe r quic cos i dynig now help!”

LOL.

Yeah online gaming has come a long way, but playing with an old gamer brings back memories…
