It’s been quite some time since I wrote in here. Here’s a quick catchup:
1) I have been playing some Oblivion – running through the Knights Of The Nine add-on. I loaded up some of their quests but were pretty much disappointed in alot of them. The only one that was interesting is the actual Knights Of The Nine mod. The rest of the mods on the disk just gives you “ownership” of a cave/house/whatever somewhere, and you need to go there, read a book, and go back to town and buy all the stuff to furnish the place. Once you do that, quest complete!! Geesh, what a waste of money.
2) Jade Empire – got the game on Friday. Played it all day on Saturday. Unhappy with character and choice of skills, and restarted on Saturday night. Completed first run through of the whole story on Monday night. In all, a pretty dang short game… I’m kinda disappointed in a way.
Right now I’m caught up in the Battlefield 2142 bug. Yeah I know I pretty much suck at it, but hey it’s fun! Thus far my favourite mode (or “maps”) is the Titan ones. It just reminds me so much of TFC (Team Fortress Classic) back in the late ’90s. I had fun trying all the different “roles” and I found that I really liked everything except the engineer. If I remember right, I didn’t like being an engineer back in TFC too 🙂
I might try my hand at conquest maps, but I doubt it. My “character” in Battlefield 2 is still a recruit (or private, or whatever the lowest rank is), and has zero awards, badges, ribbons etc. I keep getting killed in BF2, sometimes as soon as I spawn. Kinda makes me give up wanting to continue playing it. I might as well uninstall Battlefield 2.
Makes me glad I didn’t waste more money buying all the addons and “booster packs” for it too – would have had the same results there too – death within 5 secs after spawning. I wouldn’t even be able to enjoy the game at all!
At least with Battlefield 2142, and the Titan maps, my survival rate is much higher. I don’t know why, but I guess it’s cos the gameplay is like TFC which I’m used to. BF2 is too much of a “deathmatch” kind of thing.
Sometime this week, I’m expecting a delivery of Armed Assault too. It’s an “upgrade” to Operation Flashpoint which I was playing back in 2001 to 2002. I tried to locate a shop that would sell it here in Singapore, but alas nobody is bringing that in. I had to resort to buying it online. However this time around I decided to try Ebay first, just in case they might have a copy for cheaper than S$99.00 (30 Sterling Pounds or so). Armed Assault hasn’t been released in the US yet, that would explain why the shops here don’t plan on bringing it in. We normally get our games from the States, except those from EA and Microsoft, which we have branches here in Singapore itself. That’s why when popular games released by EA or Microsoft on a certain date, for example, Singapore would get it “1 day ahead” due to the timezone difference.
Anyway.. back to the battle field! Onwards Ho!!!!
